New File Format

- Scans, z-stacks and annotations are now saved in a single file for easier storage and sharing.
- The new compact format has been measured to take, on average, half as much storage space as SVS files.
- With a more efficient data structure, PIFF files are faster to read and save. It has been measured that such operations are on average three times faster with PIFF files than with SVS files.

Calibration

Physical calibration was simplified with a new interface fully integrated to Calibration Mode. The new calibration ruler is designed to be easier to manipulate for higher measurement accuracy.

Z-Stack Viewer

The z-stack viewer is now seamlessly integrated to the scan viewer. Review a z-stack with the single click of a button. Z-stack frames may be analyzed by scrolling the mouse wheel while holding the Shift key. Annotate a z-stack as if you were reviewing a scan.
Reviewing Resources

Add metadata to your resources using the new info dialog. You may add a title and a description to any object within your slide, including z-stacks and scans.

Review all your slide’s regions of interest with just a few mouse clicks. The new info dialog includes two arrow buttons that allow you to browse through your resources as if they were PowerPoint slides.

Improvements
- Improved the scanning algorithm to reduce smears and performance drops
- Refined the user interface for license activation
- Reduced our server sensitivity to the local Windows system time in order to reduce chances of encountering the error “Portal Login Failed: Unexpected Error”
- Improved the display of annotation labels and ruler measures
- Ruler measures and annotation labels now disappear when zoomed out to avoid cluttering the view with labels
- Removed the user interface scaling menu option. To increase the size of text and icons, please use Microsoft Windows’ scaling options
- Removed zoom restrictions on the mini-map so that large scans are now fully visible

- Could not upload cases with names containing “.”
- Licensing: Chinese licenses were not properly retrieved from panoptiq.cn in the Chinese version of the software
